Finished the second colour layer on this one today. It needs another glaze on the blue of the sky and a bit of a touch up, here and there, but it's pretty much done.
Hi Gareth, congratulations on becoming a Newlyn Artist, if anyone deserves it you do. Your new work looks a mammoth project but I suspect just as much work went in to the single blossom stem.
Hi Danny. I'm not a Newlyn artist as such. My new studio's in Newlyn, in the old school building, where the Newlyn School of painters used to work in the late 19th century, which is a real privelege; but there's a Newlyn Society of Artists now that I'm nothing to do with.

I don't intend to write too much on this blog. I'm sure you don't really care what I had for dinner, what the weather's like outside my house, or how I'm feeling from day to day. Instead, I'm going to use it to document my work as I produce it and show how the paintings develop.
